Allah's Reproduced Takqua
(The Answer to our Problem of Sin and Shame)
Do you struggle to do well and be a
good person and yet you get succumbed quite often to your human
weaknesses? What does your conscience say whenever you are tempted
to sin? How do you feel knowing that you have broken your promise
to yourself and to Allah? You struggle again not to sin and then
you fail. Is this your personal experience?
Yes, we try to be good Muslims submitting ourselves to Allah
the one and only true Allah. We declare our shahada (witnessing
in words and believe in our hearts): La ilaha illalla ("There
is no god but Allah."). We recognize the prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him) as His messenger and other prophets too.
We accept the Sacred Books of Allah, such as: the Noble Qur'an
as revealed to Muhammad (pbuh) and the Holy Scriptures.
We perform the rest of the practices of Islam, such as: salah
(five compulsory daily prayers), zakat (welfare contribution),
sawm (fasting during Ramadan), and if possible
hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). We do all of these
activities as part of our Ibadah (Worship) for
Allah. All of these are acts of righteousness which supposedly
aid us to live a righteous life.
